mR moderne Regional - invisibilis

Can a modern church become invisible? When it is taken out of liturgical use, transferred to another use or even demolished, its name and history are often "lost". This is why mR is making this hidden church landscape visible bit by bit with the virtual map "invisibilis" - and we have added a few small churches that are simply worth seeing for carefree excursions (project management: K. Berkemann, since 2017).

SaWa - Transformations of Sacredness: Religious Architecture in Urban Space in 21st Century Germany - Database

How many new mosques have been built since 1990? Where have churches been converted? Which architecture firms have designed new synagogues since reunification? Where are new churches being built? The SaWa database, which was initiated as part of the "Sacredness in Transition" project, aims to provide answers to these questions. From 2018 to 2021, the SaWa project team created a database with more than a thousand data sets. This data contains a preliminary collection of newly built, converted and demolished mosques, synagogues and churches in Germany since 1990. The "Transformation of Sacredness" project focuses on new buildings, conversions, relocations, reconstructions, conversions and demolitions in the sacral landscape in Germany since 1990.
